At the Water's Edge
This is a deep box canvas measuring 42x42x4 cm (16.5"x16.5"x1.5"). The edges are painted black and a clear isolation coat is applied over the paint to protect it. The painting comes signed and with a wire installed, ready to hang.
Delivery
There is a flat delivery charge based on estimated size and weight of each piece that will appear at checkout. This applies to all UK Mainland deliveries only.
Any piece that will be larger than 1m when packed will require an individual shipping quote. I will contact you by email to discuss this.
Delivery charges are inclusive of courier fees, packing materials and labour.
As I am a part-time artist and not always able to get to the studio, please allow up to 10 days before shipment. After an order is received, I will apply a clear isolation coat to protect painted pieces and once this has dried thoroughly, I will wrap and ship the piece. For UK Mainland deliveries, I use Royal Mail or ParcelForce, dependent on weight and size. Most deliveries will arrive within 2 days of shipping. If you need delivery by a specific date or expedited shipping, please contact me to see what we can arrange. This may incur an extra charge.
My studio is in Ivybridge in South Devon (PL21) and if you would prefer to collect the piece yourself or arrange a local delivery please enter the code LOCAL at checkout and I will contact you by email to arrange this.
International Delivery
If you would like to arrange international shipment, please email me to discuss whether shipment can be made to that country and what the delivery charge will be, as it will inevitably be higher than for UK Mainland. Please be aware that the shipment may incur import duties and taxes according to the laws of that country. Any additional charges such as these are the customer’s responsibility and at the customer’s expense. I have no control over these and accept no responsibility for additional charges.
This painting started out life many years ago when I made my first stab back into a painting life. I could not find the time to commit, however, and it was eventually packed with many other half-started canvases equally lacking in direction and stored away. When I came back to a painting life in earnest this time, I used some of these early efforts as the base layers for new works. This canvas had burnt sienna, black and blue swirls which I built on this time around. I still didn't pay it much attention as it sat to the side in my studio, neglected for months, but every now and then, I would add a bit of paint leftover on my brush to a section that seemed to need it. I had no expectations for this piece, but as it grew in complexity, I could see something that intrigued me and I finally gave the piece the love and attention it deserved. We were both happy that I did, as the work helped me find its true nature as we worked together. This has been one of my most-liked and commented-on pieces on my social media accounts. We all need a bit of love and care to help us become something beautiful.
